We are Cardiac Cycle Lanka
A team of 5 friends and colleagues, we formed Cardiac Cycle Lanka as a way to give back to our communities and help improve lives.

  • Dr. Divaka Perera (Sri Lankan-born Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital)
  • Dr. Rob Daniels (General Practitioner in Devon)
  • Dr. Michael Marber (Professor of Cardiology at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital)
  • Dr. Peter O’Kane (Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Bournemouth Hospital)
  • Mr. Shamindra Perera (Sri Lankan-born)

Our Mission
To improve the outcomes of children and adults with heart disease

Challenge No.1
Cycle from the southernmost to the northernmost tip of Sri Lanka

 

·         11th to 20th June 2017

·         From Dondra (South) to Point Pedro (North) via Sri Lanka’s East Coast

·         Distance: 750km (Approximately)

·         Most of the team have not ridden a bike regularly for over 20 years!

 

(Dondra to Point Pedro via the east coast, a distance of approximately 750km) between 11th and 20th June 2017.

We will be raising funds for two charities:

 

British Heart Foundation

The largest independent funder of cardiovascular research in the UK, British Heart Foundation’s vision is a world in which people do not die prematurely or suffer from cardiovascular disease

A project of the Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians, Little Hearts goals is to build a cardiac and critical care complex in Colombo, Sri Lanka, that can treat the sickest children with severe heart disease.

Donations

All funds raised will go to the British Heart Foundation and Little Hearts Sri Lanka.

 

·         100% of your Donations will go to the Nominated Charities

·         All costs related to travel, accommodation or the bike ride itself will be borne by the participants
